Our Founder
Matt Schmoker has spent more than three decades helping schools thrive—as an enrollment management and student retention expert, educator, executive coach, school owner, and keynote speaker. His path in education is anything but ordinary. He started as an elementary school janitor, became an educator, and then found his way into admissions as a high school recruiter. From there, he moved through campus leadership, became the admissions executive leader for an organization with more than 80 locations, served as President of a 37-school franchise system, and became a school owner himself. That end-to-end experience is at the heart of why he founded Legacy School Solutions, having proudly served with more than 750 schools across the U.S. and internationally. That firsthand experience across every level of school leadership is what shaped the Student Relationship Approach™ that guides Legacy's work today.
Matt is also a respected voice on the international speaking circuit. Guided by his personal mission to "Support Dreams and Inspire Greatness," he’s delivered more than 3,000 keynotes and seminars to more than 3.6 million people worldwide. His work has earned honors including induction into the Washington Education Association Hall of Fame and recognition as one of the "Top 100 Visionaries in Education" by the Global Forum for Education and Learning.
